Workshop Basics
This course introduces kids (ages 8-11) to the fundamental concepts of creativity, imagination, and traditional acting concepts while learning to express emotions through the development of character creation as a voice actor. It provides a basic outline of character creation in a safe space for young actors to express their creativity effortlessly, allowing their personality to shine.

Meet Your Coach and Host
Maria Alfaro, one of VAI’s Lead Coaches, has over 15 years of experience working with children, teens and adults as a teacher, mentor, motivational speaker and trainer. Her love of learning and self development led her to live and travel to different parts of the world and master multiple languages. Maria’s diverse cultural background and experiences gives her the capacity to be compassionate and flexible. This wealth of knowledge and skills supports her creative voice over work and the coaching of voice acting principles/tools.
What She offers….
Maria combines her wealth of experiences to create a safe space for creating joyfully. She guides/navigates creation back to the space of imagination and curiosity where worlds exist. Each individual brings their own unique flavor to every character they create or voice because their imagination is theirs and only theirs. This is called tapping into their Creative Genius. She offers tools to bring characters and those worlds to life.
As A Voice Actor….
Her voice work includes local public radio programming, on- and off-camera narration in multiple languages, children’s animations, audio-books especially children’s books and creating children’s content.
