DJ Monkeyboy’s craft was born and shaped in Orlando during the mid-1990s—a time when Florida’s dance scene was exploding with energy, culture, and innovation. The name “Monkeyboy” was given to him by a morning show host while he was producing radio at WXXL XL 106.7 FM, where he quickly became a defining force behind the station’s sound.
 

While producing and hosting radio mix shows, including the station’s weekend party show, he helped take the program from 11th place to #1 in its demographic—driven by a deep understanding of music, nightlife culture, and what truly moves a crowd.

Outside the studio, Monkeyboy built his reputation in front of live audiences, DJing thousands of events including nightclubs, private parties, weddings, homecomings, and street festivals. He held residencies at iconic venues like the House of Blues and The Groove at Universal Studios, while performing across Orlando, Ybor City, Ocala, Gainesville, and Daytona.
 

Born and raised in Orlando, he has grown into a Florida-based DJ and producer with national reach. Known as one of the most entertaining radio DJs in the country, he has hosted mix shows across multiple stations throughout the U.S., blending performance, personality, and precision behind the decks.
 

Musically, DJ Monkeyboy is known for blending Florida breaks with high-energy pop remixes across multiple eras—creating a sound that has energized dance floors everywhere from corporate events and private parties to underground clubs and large-scale festivals. His style is rooted in the influences that shaped him: Freestyle, Miami Bass, early UK breakbeat, Top 40, and House.
