I had the absolute honor of speaking at this year’s WOVO (World Voices Organization) Voice-Over Conference in Orlando, and I can honestly say the experience filled me with gratitude, joy, and a renewed sense of purpose. It was a powerful reminder of how far I’ve come in this incredible industry. The venue? Just a short walk from where my mentor lived—the very person who introduced me to voice-over nearly 25 years ago. Talk about a full-circle moment!
Standing on that stage, I felt the weight of my journey and the strength of the lessons I’ve learned over the years. I shared with my fellow voice actors something that has been crucial to my success: focus creates reality. I truly believe that focus is the key to unlocking not only your potential but also the stories we’re entrusted to tell. When we zero in on what is right in front of us, we create powerful, authentic performances.
My message was simple yet profound: stop forcing yourself to understand what you think the writer is trying to say, and start looking at what’s already obvious. There’s so much power in the clarity that’s right in front of us. The magic happens when we work with what’s there, instead of digging for something hidden. This approach has transformed my career, and I was proud to share it with others so they can tap into their own greatness.

I’m beyond grateful for the chance to inspire and connect with such an extraordinary community of voice actors. I can’t wait to continue serving this group, and I’m looking forward to what we’ll all create next!
